What are the Responsibilities of a Business Owner?

Business owners' main responsibilities are to:

  1. Display the Business Registration Certificate at the business premises and in every branch of business (if any) - Section 12(2) ROBA 1956.

  2. Display the signage of the business name and registration number at business premises - Rule 17A(2) ROBR 1957.

  3. Renew the Business Registration Certificate 30 days before the expiration date - Section 12(1)(b) ROBA 1956.

  4. Notify the Registrar of the changes to the registered particulars of the business, such as:

    1. Business Address

    2. Business Type

    3. Information of Owner or Partner

    4. Particulars of Branches

  5. Every letterhead, invoice, bill or other document used by a registered business containing the name or names of such business shall display the number of the registration certificate.

  6. Notify the Registrar on the termination of business registered – Rule 17A(1)(c) ROBR 1957.​
